Digital Influencing Is Not my Jam- Says Forty Plus Ten

Digital Influencing Is Not my Jam !

Ever get caught up in the HYPE of what’s trending? I did. After a year of having entered the world of Digital Influencing by blogging and reviewing skin care products, makeup favorites, curly hair care products, and fashion trends, I realized, Digital Influencing is not my JAM! For the last 3 months you may  have noticed that I have gone MIA on my blog. I initially did not know why, and chalked it up to WRITERS BLOG and lack of INSPIRATION. The interesting thing was, I wasn’t missing it. This last month, I had to circle back on advice I often give to people. People at work, my family, my friends and even random strangers. The advice is, in order to live your life’s purpose, and live your ” BEST LIFE” you have to do what you LOVE. I ask, what is the thing you would do for FREE all day? That thing that you love so much, you would not care if no one paid you to do.  That is your PURPOSE ! You are so happy doing  ” IT ” that time fly’s by, and you’re not the lease bit exhausted but instead, you’re energized.  I wasn’t doing that anymore, and that was  the problem, that was the ” WRITERS BLOCK”

Those of you who know me personally know that I am the GOAL COACHER, not a digital influencer /instagram celebrity wanna-be!  You come to me feeling like you can’t do something, and by the time we’re done chatting, you feel like you could RULE the world!  That is my GOD giving gift, I’ve always had it. However, I wasn’t always so good at flipping the script for myself.  My work for the last few years has been OWNING my gifts and taking my own advice.  I have a nack for pushing others out of their comfort zone and going after their dreams, but for me, not so much.

I have had so many obstacles thrown my way that I could write a book ( and I intend too ). I have worked really hard at accepting and believing in myself. As long as I made others feel good about themselves and their dreams, that was all that mattered to me. That is the trapped that I found myself in so many times. Then one day out of the blue,  my higher power whispered to me, what about you?  You see, I am really good at creating my own blocks/distractions. Which I really create out of fear, not any real fear, but things I created from a place of not feeling good enough.  Makes no sense, but remember FEAR is liar, and never makes any real sense.

Other- dope- version-of-myself

The block I created was, creating Forty Plus Ten as a fashion-beauty-lifestyle Blog. My thought was, I will create a digital following based on what people are really interested in and then sprinkle in the content that I really want to talk about. Don’t get me wrong, I  love trying new products and I LOVE anything FASHION. But, that’s not what fills me up, inspiring and motivating people to live their life’s purpose is what I am really ” OBSESSED” with.  My fear was, maybe people would not be interested in finding their truth or hearing from me. I mean who am I to speak on this? I even went as far as to  created a 2nd instagram feed at _the_truth_within I legit needed some presence of what I really love on social media. I know, so crazy !

Thank goodness that self reflection is a regular routine for me. Even when, I turn my head away from the truth, I cannot help but turn back. I have to be authentically who I am and I always come back to that. So, no I haven’t had writers block nor have I been un-inspired. I just accepted that I did not  created Forty Plus Ten to be another fashion Blog. I created it to be a place of truth, and real-ness , inspiration and motivation.  For women to identify their life purpose, or find it again if they had lost it in the mist of raising families and to really do what brings them true JOY and HAPPINESS.

Maybe people will be inspired, maybe they won’t.. but what I do know is, I will be doing what makes me HAPPY, and that is being a beneficial presence on this planet, being of service and in turn, living my ” best life “.  What can you now expect from Forty Plus Ten? You can expect less ” beauty stuff ” and more life -changing inspo. I will leave the makeup, skin care and fashion  to the influencers who have that handled.  I will  stay in my lane and create content on  things that make me feel most impactful and inspiring. There are many other things I feel like I should be speaking too.. This last week we lost 2  seemly ” happy” and ” successful” people to suicide, and we where all shocked, rightful so! Clearly there is a BIGGER conversation that we need to be engaged in and I want to use my platform to be helpful were I think it matters.

My intention for Forty Plus Ten is to be a space for us to share our thoughts , feelings, successes and challenges. A place for thought-provoking conversations to go down and to collectively create change and shine light were it’s dark.

I welcome you all and thank you for being here,

Be Well, Andrinique

New York Fashion Week: Lack Of Diversity Called out

rachael zoe lack of diversity at new york fashion week

Rachel Zoe’s line up is shameful!

New York Fashion Week: Lack of Diversity Called out

New York fashion week as been a favorite of mine since, I was a young girl. As it turns out, my attention is  distracted by the non-inclusion of women of color and women over forty.  So, this blog is not my fashion recap as promised. Instead it’s a New York Fashion Week: Lack of Diversity Called out.

The fashion industry as a whole from company branding, designers, editors, photographer,  are excluding an entire group of women. Why am I/we, women of color over forty not included? Are we not really not relevant in their eyes? Hiring WOC  as a part of a “quota” aka affirmative action so as not to be call attention to their blatant discrimination is not what we are looking for. This SHOULD NOT be the reason why someone likes me shows up on a runway, or is featured in an ad campaign or has a collection shown during NYFW, or is highlighted in a fashion publication under the ” STREET STYLE section or is seated front row.  WTH ?

My personal experience

My career and background of 20+ years has been in Human Resources primarily in retail fashion. I have been the one pushing hiring managers to hire qualified talent for just that, their talent. There were times, I was told “no” on a candidate of color for no other reason than the color of their skin.  They then move forward on a less qualified  person who looks more like a “fit”.  For example,I have had to take it upon myself to provide “tips” to my WOC candidate during the interview process on how to wear her hair ie not NATURAL so she can land the job. Because, I knew she would not get the job otherwise.  My point is racism “IS A “thing and I won’t tolerate it.

Times are changing; get it together people

Times are changing and silence is not an option. You can be apart of the problem or you can be apart of the solution. I chose the latter. If you have read my ‘about me ‘ section on my blog, you will see what my intention and motivation for creating @fortyplusten was from the onset. So, I will continue to speak on this topic as long as I feel this way. I will represent women like me, woc of color as long as this is an issue.

As long as I am not seeing more women who look like me in the role of fashion editor or stylist or ad feature or highlighted in fashion publications, I will continue to speak out ! Oh, I don’t mean the hand full (one hand ) of amazing women currently holding down these spots as apart of some quota or affirmative action bullshit. I mean when the representation is FAIR and above all EQUAL across the board!

Women with voices using their platforms for GOOD!

Here are  two women of color amongst many who are using their platforms to shine a light on this discrimination.

New York Fashion Week: Five Women Of Color Who Should Be On Your Radar  by Lauren Wesley Wilson founder of Color Comm

Street Style Is Killing Itself With Its Narrow Focus on Thin White Women   by Lindsay Peoples fashion editor at The Cut

These women have written powerful and thought-provoking articles this past week.

Blogger Discrimination ~ More Diversity

Hello Friends,

Blogger Discrimination~ More Diversity

” What I know for sure is that speaking your truth is the most powerful tool we all have”- Oprah

Those few words of inspiration cause a group of fashion bloggers to use their voices and speak up against the blatant discrimination against fashion brands such as Revolve .  ‘Blogger discrimination’ towards  women of color, plus size and women over forty.

More Diversity Please

Online fashion brand,  Revolve was blasted last week after posting photos of their most recent international trip. The same fashion bloggers that get invited to all their events year after year were in attendance.  So, what’s wrong with this you ask? Let me break it down for you.  As they, Revolve began posting pics of their trip to Thailand, it was clearly obvious that there were NO woman of color, curvy women, or women over 40, included on this trip per usual.

No hate or shade, just facts!

This brand is known for taking lavish trips, hosting annual summer Hampton parties and inviting the same group of bloggers year after year. They even created their own award ceremony naming top bloggers in specific categories within the digital arena. None of which were woc, curvy or over forty. They’ve also been known for hiring popular black rappers to headline these events !

Bloggers UNITY we will not be silent

Blogger Valerie Eguavoen from On a Curve  spoke UP and called the brand out on this non-inclusive behavior. Instagram’s WOC jumped in to voice their feelings on the blatant discrimination from this brand and so many others. One blogger, who was photographed with the Revolve crew respond to the question as to WHY woc are clearly and regularly left out of these trips and events.

Aimee Song of @Songofstyle replied stating that maybe, WOC where not invited to Revolve events because either these bloggers don’t exist therefore cannot be included or they simply are not big enough influencers.  Meaning, if they do not have millions of followers they are not relevent and that brands don’t know who there are.. What the f kinda bullshit is that?  There are HUNDREDS of WOC bloggers on the gram who hold down very impressive number. So, that was complete bullshit, she should have remained silent like the rest of her crew.

My Open letter to Brands

Dear Brands,

I shop your brand, work hard for my money and spend it in your store and on your ecom site. Women of color and over forty actually have more disposable income then your 30 something friends. We represent the largest group of women in the country. I am over forty, fashionable, and wear on trend clothing. Your continued disregard of me will force me to spend my dollars with brands who don’t disrespect me and an entire group of women.

Check the stats

Did you know that women of color spend more money on hair care and beauty products than any other group of women in the country? Research it, you will see ! Thing is you’re a smart and successful brand, you already know this. What you don’t know is, I will not stop speaking on this topic of discrimination until one of two things happen. 1. You re-think and change your social media strategy to become inclusive of all women irregardless of the skin color, body shape or age.  2. You loss business and go under.

Seems harsh yes, but the days are not today when you get to take my money and disrespect me all at the same time. The days of racism may try to stay present and JIM CROW may be trying to make a come back, but it won’t happen as long as I have a VOICE. Your behavior is the exact reason why I created this blog to represent WOC color over forty. You might as well add a special label on your product that reads ” for 30-year-old whites or very light-skinned women” Because it would match your social media branding. Shame on you Revolve and brands alike !

New to the Game

I’m new at this blogger game and only have a few thousand followers. But, my followers have money to spend just like I do. They value and appreciate my product reviews and go out and buy brands I say I love. So, trust and believe, I have a VOICE and I am influencing.  The day will come when I will have millions of followers and ‘We’ won’t be buying what you’re selling ! I would  love to call out all the brands that are not even kind enough to reply to and email I’ve sent, or comment on the 10th flat lay I have posted sharing my love for your product. No harm no foul tho, good to know who is who.

Too all the brands that have reach out, reposted a photo of mine,  liked or commented on my page. Those who have collaborated with me, thank you for being a legit brand create amazing products for us ALL !

Check yourself before you wreak yourself

Oh, and to too all you bloggers out there apart of this problem intentionally or by quite mouth association. Remember when you only had a few hundred followers?  You know back when Instagram was a fad that no one knew would become this powerful shopping/sales driver. We followed you because we were digging your style, and your feed and we trusted you. Yea, BYE!

Keep your freebies

What I am most upset about is the lack of diversity within certain brands and how seemly acceptable this all is. Especially, as it relates to partnerships, collaborations and opportunities for bloggers like me.  And, when I say ” partnerships,” I don’t mean being sent FREE products! We are amazing content creators and creatives. We are beautiful and, we look dope in just about anything we put on our shapely dark bodies. So, paid us in good old American dollars and keep the free products for holiday gift baskets !

7 step guide to writing your Vision and Goals

Happy New Year Friends,

7 step guide to writing your ‘Vision and Goals’

I hope you all had a super, fantastic holiday season! Well, it’s a new year, and many of us making resolutions and setting intentions for the new year 2018.  I have put together this comprehensive ‘ 7 step guide to writing your vision and goals’.

While it is good to set intentions for living your best life, the part people get tripped up on is how to actually do that.  I am here to tell you it goes far beyond writing down goals and making fancy vision boards, though that is a wonderful start. But, there is more to it than that. I mean, if it were that simple, we would all be living our best lives, right?  And, I mean best life, living to our fullest potential.

That is what we all strife for but, miss the mark on sometimes.  For example, when the career is on point, the love life may be lagging, suffering or flat-out non-existent, or your health or your family life is not so good !  Nothing is 100% the best all the time.  But wait there’s more.. YOU are in control and the co-creator of your destiny aka life ! How about we take that on for kicks and giggles..

A quick little back ground on how I became the Vision and Goals girl.

I have always been a motivator and someone who inspires others.  My friends will all tell you. If you’re feeling like you cannot do a single thing and feel like and may even believe that your dreams will remain just that dreams, and your goals just far-fetched wishes, you need to chat with Andrinique.

I have always had this part of me that believes in people, even when I don’t always believe in myself, I know someone else can achieve anything they desire. So, when friends, family, clients and sometimes even random strangers un- knowningly or knowingly engage me in a conversation about something they want or something they want to do..  instantly I become their biggest fan, advocate, helper, supporter, connector you name it, I’m all over it.

Additional, I  have lead group vision and goals sessions with different lululemon teams, local yoga studios as well as private 1×1’s with people.

My goals

One of my goals is to start a vision and goals consulting business as an extension of my blog Fortyplusten. My target clients will be women forty and over and young girls 12 to 16. Why such a specific demographic your ask? Well, women over forty tend to focus so much on their families they forget their dreams and goals as they are so laser focused on having a happy family and raising happy, smart and productive children. When they do remember they had their own dreams, there is dust all over them and sometime at that point they sometimes lack the confidence or know how when it comes to making their dreams their reality.

We know all to well that young girls can go all the way left ( the not good side ) between the ages of 12 and 16..  the struggles of being a girl in this world at that age…whew !  That’s is an entirely different blog topic. That is why  I chose this demographic. But, because I and the DREAM catcher, I will most like always be the Vision and Goals girl to the masses.

a-goal-without- a -plan- is -a wish

7 steps to writing your vision and goals.

  1. GET clear – On what you want, not on what you DON’T want. Ever notice that when you ask someone a question about what they want the first thing they do is tell you what the DON’T want, as if that was the question. ex: What type of man would you like to marry? (answer) Well, I DON’T want a lazy man with no ambition ! or, What do you want to do this weekend?  ( answer) I DONT’ want to just lay around the house.  GET IT,  write down what you DO want.. and if the DON’T’s keep showing up.. try this.. DRAW a BIG circle on a piece of paper and start writing what you want inside of the circle.. when a DON’T shows up, write it outside of the circle. That way you acknowledge it and the energy it brings and set it aside.  After your done, were only going with the DO’s and throwing away the DON’T’s.
  2. VISUALIZE- Your life, you know that BEST life we were talking about.. This could look like you laying down with your eyes close or sitting in your favorite corner of your home or at a park or beach, whatever. If you think visualization is some hard yogi thing, think of this activity like day dreaming, only when you’re done, you write it down. The day-dream has to come from a place of already..not maybe or what if. So, when you write it down it’s in the present time not in the future. When you’re  visualizing pay attention to the following: where are you? who’s around? what sounds do you hear? what smells fill the air ?
  3. WRITE IT DOWN– All of it, in the present tense..The sentences should start with  I AM ! this is KEY. Think of it as if  you’re writing the story of your life for someone interested in knowing what your life is like currently.
  4. BREAK IT DOWN– We need balance in our lives right, you hear it every day, every where, from everyone.. ” YOU NEED BALANCE “ ( in that nagging but true voice of a friend or parent ) Well it’s true, we all need our lives to be balanced. So, it make sense that we have to have goals for the 3 most important aspects of our life.  Our personal life, our career and our health. In your day-dream there was personal ( family, friends etc ) career ( what you want that to be or look like ) I doe no, maybe you want to be president 🙂 and your health..because if our body and health is jacked were F’d. In the writing down part, each of these need their own section.
  5. ACTION steps- you can write pie in the sky goals all day long but, if you don’t have measurable action steps that shit gonna just be a story on paper. How do you plan on making this shit happen? Be real because it’s your life and no one has the answers to your life except you and the universe. ( GOD ) Don’t be discouraged if you don’t know HOW on some things.. But, now it’s written down and you now no what you don’t know.. and now, you can ASK for HELP ! Seek out people in your life who do know or knows someone who knows, get a mentor or my favorite an ACCOUNTABILITY buddy.. this accountability buddy should be there for support but, most importantly, they won’t let you get off by saying ” I DON’T KNOW HOW” or I CAN’T cuz that’s bullshit. You know why? Because,  it’s was your vision to begin with. No one force that dream on you ! so be real..
  6. SET DATES- Give yourself realistic dates to make your goals attainable. You aint gonna be the president by this time next year #justsayin. You know what you are capable of better than anyone so set real dates. Maybe break your 2018 goals into 4 quarters, maybe some goals need a few years ( don’t get crazy tho ). I do my goals in quarters 🙂 and, if you don’t meet a date deadline ask yourself these questions ASAP; wtf happen? ( is the answer legit or is it any excuse ) do you really want whatever it was? ( shit happens, maybe you woke one morning an realize that goal was planted in your head by a parent or society) if you’re trying your best and IT just hasn’t happen yet, cool, MOVE the date a few months.. If you miss it again, you gotta go deep and figure that shit out, love. Do not, I REPEAT, DO NOT BEAT YOURSELF UP ! cause that’s not helpful !!
  7. VISION BOARD– Create a vision board and use photos that look like the life you VISIONED ! Post it somewhere you can see it everyday, and several times a day. And, when you walk past it stop and remember how you felt when your eyes were close and you were in your vision.. the feelings of happiest and all that ENERGY you had during your vision exercise is super important. You want to tune into that energy every time you look at your vision board and day dream about living your BEST life. Energy is like a radio frequency, it has a HIGH and CLEAR frequency and a  staticE  low one…stay on the the high one!

And wala, your living your best life.. Enjoy your creation!

xoxo, Andrinique

Meditation- How to access your authentic self

Hello again,

Any of you meditate? I do and have for 10 years. It was a long process for me to get myself grounded in the benefits of meditation and if it would have any real, noticeable effects on me. I am happy to say that, it did. I look back now and think, how was I not doing this my entire life and why isn’t this something that is a thing for everyone from child hood. The why for me was simple, I wanted to quiet the constant internal chatter in my head. You ever stop and pay attention to what your mind is telling you all day long? I mean, if you stop and pretend you are an outsider observing you, you would be amazed by how much your mind talks to you..Asking you questions, judging other people, and let us not forget all the self-doubt chatter. Ex; you’re bloated, you gonna eat that?, thought you were dieting, your hair gurl, you cannot really do that ? Who are you kidding? And so on and so on.. Well, I didn’t want to hear that voice all day or ever actually ! What I did want to do was gain access to who I really was, the authentic me, the me I was created to be. So, when I heard that in meditation I could practice quieting my mind and how to get connected to the source of who I was spiritually, I was all in. I have my definition of what Meditation is, but I found this definition and it’s pretty on point.

“Meditation is a process of calming the mind and an affirmation of the individual relationship to the universal. ” Deepak Chopra

meditation-self- knowledge                       How to Meditate

Initially, my intention was just to quiet my mind liked I said. But, I tend to talk a lot and so I also think a lot! How and the hell was I going to get MY mind to stop for at least 10 mins a day? I started toying with the idea that I could really do this when I started attending a spiritual center ( kinda like church ) in LA.  Fifteen minutes before every service they held a guided meditation. So, every Sunday and some Wednesday evenings, I made sure I was in my seat 15 mins before service time and “allow’ myself to be guided into meditation. The meditation facilitator always let us know in the first 5 mins that it was “ok” if our mind wandered. All we need to do was acknowledge our random thoughts and let them pass by. Imaging them kinda floating by in your head. I did this for weeks until one day, I decided to try it at home, on the floor in my bedroom without guidance. That was 1o years ago!  I now meditate sometime for up the 45 mins not even noticing the time. It really feels like 1o mins, I swear ! Once I realized I could do this on my own it was ON !  I use to set a timer on my phone for 11 mins and found some meditation type music and I began my meditation practice. Now, there are all kinds of meditation apps Headspace, Calm and my favorite Insight timer.  Here are the basics for the beginner:

How to meditate: Simple meditation for beginners
  • Sit or lie comfortably  ( I have to sit or else I’ll fall asleep ) You may even want to invest in a meditation chair or cushion, especially if you have lower back problems. The floor even carpeted can be brutally on your butt and back.
  • Close your eyes and try to focus on the area between your eyes.
  • Make no effort to control your breath; simply breathe naturally.
  • Focus your attention on your breath.
  • Your stomach should be full on the inhalation and pulled in on the exhalation.

Once you are comfortable with your breath you can introduce a mantra to help you stay focused and keep that mind from wandering.   Om or A-um is the most basic and powerful mantra you can chant. This universal mantra will create powerful, positive vibrations in your lower abdomen. It is often combined with the mantra “Shanti,” which means peace in Sanskrit. You can repeat A-um as many times as you wish for your chanting. I still use these during the times I’m finding it difficult to stop my mind from wanting to chat it up while I’m meditating.

                                             Why Meditate

Some people ask, why meditate? what’s the point? For me, meditation has changed how I live my life completely. During my meditation time I am able to quiet my mind, and when my mind is quiet, I can hear what the universe is trying to tell me, where it’s leading me. We are always in search of how, why and what our life is about, and what our purpose is, etc. Well it’s not hard to uncover the answers to all of these questions, because they live inside of us. But, first we need to get quiet. I don’t think the universe ( GOD ) is a screamer about to yell over our internal conversations to share something with us. Well, sometimes when attention is really, really require, we may get a rock thrown at our head. ( of course, I mean metaphorically )

meditation- your-soul

I have had more actual guidance coming out of meditation then I ever had racking my brain or seeking advice from others. And, I like I said, the answers to all of our questions are already inside of us, we just need to be quiet, be still, listen, and trust.  Oh, and let’s not forget all of the scientific research out there that says Meditation is GOOD for you and your state of mind.  In case you don’t believe ME ..LOL ! When we are in tune with our TRUE nature, our authentic selves, that is when we can hear what our SOULS  are trying to communicate to us. xoxo, Andrinique

Workouts, Yoga

You had me at Soulcycle- My favorite Cardio

Hello Ladies,

I confess, I fell off the workout wagon again ! It’s so bizarre, because I am always off  falling off one wagon or another. If I am focused on my yoga practice, then I cannot workout or do any cardio. It’s like I am cheating  on one if I am doing the other.. WTH?  I mean, my yoga practice is not a form of working out for me, so what is the problem? Anyone else get stuck in this kind of back and forth, or is it just me?  Why can’t I practice my yoga daily and hit the gym or studio also???

Anyway,  outside of my yoga, I am either weight training  at a gym or getting my cardio on at a studio like Soul Cycle or Orange Theory .  Soul Cycle by far is my absolute favorite!!  When they turn the lights off and the music up,  I zone all the way out and go all the way in. It’s like a form of meditation for me, and I’m obsessed ! 60 to 90 mins later, I’ve burn no less that 8oo calories and I’m drenched in sweat.. SOOO good ! Yea, the classes are pricey, but whatever. If the instructor is on the job, with a greater intention for her riders and the playlist is on point, it’s gonna be an amazing ride ! Any soul riders relating here ?

until next time

On My Mat- my yoga journey

Hi Ladies,

Welcome back to my blog ! If your reading my blog for the first time, Hi!

Most of you probably don’t know that I am a RYT 200hr yoga teacher. I completed my yoga teacher training at Dancing Dogs Yoga in Savannah, GA, which is Baptiste  style yoga. It’s hot yoga, but not Bikram hot yoga. It was life changing to say the least.

A lot of people think of yoga as a  fitness routine, a sorta toning and firming your body type of work out. And, for a lot it is, nothing wrong with that..  But, for a huge group of people such as myself ( yogi’s ), it’s a heart and soul workout. It’s a workout to get in touch with the REAL you, the authentic YOU!  Once I step onto my mat, it’s like I am transported to another plane…. I turn inward almost automatically. I am no longer aware of those around me, and I am for sure not interested in who is in the best pose. In ytt ( yoga teacher training ) we practiced working on OURSELVES and evaluated how we show up in the world. The question that was raised daily through my practice, was who are you? why are you? It was a DEEP and scary question, because I was for sure at that time that I did NOT  know the answer. Who TF was I really?? I would find out 220 hrs later the real deal .. It wasn’t pretty, I am mean really, I was crying in class damn near everyday. YIKES! What vail had I been hiding behind for over 30 years? And why ??  Don’t worry, I found out, and the vail has been lifted 🙂

yoga-on- the-ocean

It was never really a goal of mine to become a yoga teacher as much as it was me using yoga to trying to figure out who I was. It was like something was pulling me toward internal inquiry. I was always empathic and very VERY in tune with energy, mine and those around me, and the energetic pull became stronger and stronger.  Until, one day I ended up in ytt in a city I had never even visited before.  (thank you Shelly )  You see, I was a meditator long before I became a yogi. My meditation practice guided me to my mat.

So, now when people find out that I am a yoga teacher the first thing they ask is why don’t I teach?  Well, I’m not right now, but maybe I will one day !  Until then, I hang out on my mat at Yoga Works, Core Power, or DDY whenever I’m in Savannah or Atlanta. My practice can be very messy at times and other times not..When it’s not, I say to myself something is off, because I am not perfect, so WTH? The messy practice is the real practice. Being on my mat keeps me real with myself and in turn, I show up real in the world. And for me, that is the point of me and my mat.  Yoga is soul food and if you haven’t had any, you should. You won’t know what you’ve been missing until you try it 🙂

I’m still digitally influencing, and keeping it real with you !

Thanks for hanging out with me, Andrinique

Fitness Goals

Hi Ladies,

I fell off the workout wagon three months ago, there I admit it LOL ! Seriously tho, I find when my life starts to get outta balance all of my lifestyle routines suffer. I stop working out, I don’t get enough sleep and I start eating really bad.  Not to mention, having to go to a job I really didn’t enjoy. Welp, I don’t work at that job anymore and I’m BACK !

My favorite forms of working out are; weight training and running ( 5k or 10k’s only and it has to be in a tutu) I sometimes do bootcamp style workouts or orange theory. I really want to get into cross fit. I tried it once and was almost through it, when the last round of burpee’s  got me. I had a full on melt down when I couldn’t complete the last set and began hysterically crying. I never went back, LOL. I think I’ll be ok this time, I’m going back ! Bottom line is, I always want my body to be strong. So, not working out really isn’t an option.

Oh, and I have gained some weight during this  un-scheduled break.. So, who wants to join me back on the workout wagon ?  Who has a few pounds to shed and wants an accountability partner?  Who’s with me ?

we got this, Andrinique
